This is the home page for Afternoon Stalker, a robot-killing video game. It is a clone of the 1982 Night Stalker video game for the Intellivision, from Mattel Electronics. Afternoon Stalker 1.2.0 is out (2024-05-25). This version is based on flatzebra 0.2.x and SDL2. The full screen mode now shows the correct aspect ratio. Requirements (on a GNU/Linux system): SDL2, SDL2_image, SDL2_mixer, SDL2_gfx, SDL2_ttf. The sources might compile on other Unix-like systems. My personal high score is 41800 (June 29th, 2008). If you beat this, write to me and I will display your score here. DownloadYou need to get afternoonstalker and flatzebra.

The command afternoonstalker runs the game. Use the arrow keys to move and the Ctrl key to shoot in the direction you last walked. You can also shoot in a fixed direction with the H (left), J (down), K (up) and L (right) keys (this is the same convention as in vi). The Escape key pauses the game and shows the main menu. The P key also pauses the game the same way. Alternative RulesThe game's Options menu allows you to change the maze and the rules. The "Alternative" rules are slightly different:
